February 26th - Ngorongoro Crater

February 26, 2017 by Madison Weber

After breakfast we depart for our journey into the Ngorongoro Crater, a world heritage site and the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. It is approximately 10 miles wide and creates a natural amphitheater for one of the densest populations of large animals anywhere. It hosts a spectacular array of wildlife, including rhino, lions, water buffalo, zebra, elephants, Thompson’s gazelle, and warthogs. Enjoy a catered bush lunch in the crater and visit a Maasai village before returning to the lodge.
